Dearest Gerhard. We met you on a visit to Israel many decades ago. It was the beginning of a long friendship. The three of us, as well as Gitta, shared written letters and spoke often on the telephone, until you both moved to a senior living facility. Then it was more difficult to reach you there. You invited us to visited you in Osnabruck many years ago, which we did, and you gave us a tour of the City, the museums, and the surrounding countryside while explaining the long history of the region. You also visited us in Seattle, Washington while you were on a tour. We miss very much the long and deep conversations with you about history, and all that you have seen and experienced your long interesting life which were deeply meaningful. We so appreciate the books, classical music, religion, politics, society, and history that we all discussed together.
